At present, anyone can set up in
practice as a hypnotherapist without undergoing any formal
training. One way to be assured that your therapist has been
properly trained is to consult a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH). The NGH is the oldest, largest, and most respected hypnosis organization in the world.
NGH members are strictly regulated with respect to:
Qualifications
Training
Client confidentiality
Research and publications
Practitioner competence
Ethical behavior
Continuing professional development

A note about client confidentiality. Hypnotists are legally subject to the same HIPAA confidentiality laws that apply to counselors and doctors: we may not disclose your personal information to third parties without your approval.
The sanctity of your confidentiality is taken most seriously at the Sanders Hypnosis Center. In accordance with the HIPAA regulations, we will never acknowledge to any third party that you are a client of ours, not publically or privately. This means your secrets are safe at the Sanders Hypnosis Center.
